In July 1944, a B-24 Liberator Bomber went missing over the European night.  The pilot was a young man was in his early 20s, who left home secretly and slipped over the Canadian border to join the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF).  This young man was my future grandfather.  James was a letter writer and generated a lot of correspondence that is being shared here.  These letters tell a fascinating story of a man going to war He provides a singular point of view in the experience of World War II.

Welcome to this blog.  I hope that you find these letters as interesting as I do and that this blog will be an interactive discussion.
